Rome First School offers a warm and nurturing environment where students can grow into enthusiastic lifelong learners.
At Rome First School, we believe that through purposeful play, children gain critical skills that help them become successful students in the future.
No matter what age, Rome First School believes that young children should be provided the opportunity to explore, create and discover.
Rome First School is a half-day preschool for children from one year old to kindergarten. Our classes run from 9:00 am–1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
At Rome First School, we believe that the preschool years should be a time where children feel happy, successful, and confident. Our teachers strive to provide a stimulating environment in which children learn through exploration and discovery. Our school is a ministry of the church, and therefore, we value the importance of fostering a passion and love for God.
The Rome First School was established in 1987 at Rome First United Methodist Church. What began as a simple vision by the church and children council leaders has grown into a thriving preschool in Rome. Rome First School began under the directorship of Jodye Butler with only 10 students and a paraprofessional. Over the years, RFS has grown to over 100 students ranging from 1 to 6 years old.
